"End of year" Giving Campaign

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
—Nelson Mandela

We harness the power of volunteer mentors from our community with generous funding from individual donors to send deserving low-income students to college.

  • Our students are low-income, first generation to college, underrepresented and promising academically with an average household income of $50k.

  • To date, the Reach Foundation has individually mentored 140+ high school students onto college.

  • 70+ mentors have volunteered over 5000 hours with the Reach Foundation over the past 2 years individually mentoring students through the college application process. Almost 70% of these mentors have Masters or PHD’s.

  • To date, 10 students received the Reach Foundation Scholarship along with a personal college mentor who guides them through their 5-year college journey to a bachelor’s degree.

  • 100% volunteer non-profit organization, every dollar goes to students, with no overhead, salaries or office space rental.

Here is how far your contribution goes

$70 pays the application fee to one 4-year college (this is more of a barrier than you would hope)

$140 pays for a yearly bus pass

$200 pays for one month of textbooks/supplies

$2000 pays for room and board for one month at UC Santa Cruz for a freshman

$6000 funds a Reach Scholar for one year

$30,000 funds one Reach Scholar for the entire 5 years in college until graduation
